Singing in Kirkgate Market, Saturday 23rd November
We will be singing in the market from about 12.30pm to 1pm on Saturday. We will be in the performance area in the 1976 Hall (where the food stalls/cafes are). Come and say hello.
Sunny singing in Saltaire!
We enjoyed participating in the Peace and Craft Fair at Saltaire. It was rather cold, but sunny and we sang with gusto.

We are happy to support the Peace and Crafts Fair again this year and will be singing in the beautiful Victoria Hall on Saturday morning.
World Music Songs for Everyone, Wed 18th Sept
Come along to a fun and relaxed singing session hosted by Leeds People’s Choir and led by special guest and friend of the choir Fran Wyburn. We will sing fun songs of joy, peace and community. No experience needed. Tea and biscuits provided.
Fran is an experienced choir leader and talented song writer. Pay as you feel on the night.

UNITY: Songs of peace and welcome, Wed 11th Sept

Middleton Railway song video, July 2024
The choir had a great time visiting the Middleton Railway to make a video for our Middleton Railway song written during lock down with our previous leader, Fran Wyburn. The song outlines some of the history of the railway which dates back to 1758 when the waggons were horse drawn, through to its current phase as a popular museum run by dedicated volunteers.
Middleton Railway really looked after us on the day, and even provided us with a dedicated carriage, Thanks, Middleton Railway!
Street Choir Festival Sheffield 2024
We had a great time at Street Choirs Festival. Thanks to all the organisers in Sheffield who made is such a great event! Sheffield is a very friendly city. Well done to all the choirs who took part. We’ll see you all in Bradford next year.

Come and hear us at the Good in Parts 25th anniversary concert in aid of St Gemma’s Hospice
We are happy to support the important work of St Gemma’s Hospice by taking part in a charity concert on Friday 15th December, Church of the Immaculate Heart, 294 Harrogate Road, Moortown, Leeds LS17 6LE. The concert is organised by Good In Parts Community Choir and it’s also their 25th Anniversary! So congratulations Good in Parts!
Supporting the Yorkshire CND Peace and Craft Fair, 22nd Nov
The choir was happy to be invited to sing at the Peace and Craft Fair in Saltaire on Saturday 22nd Nov in the beautiful Glen Room in Victoria Hall. It was a chilly day, but lovely and sunny. We were part of a programme of solo musicians, duos and poets and were happy to hear our friends at Bradford Voices in fine form.
Singing in Kirkgate Market, 15th Nov 2023
A lovely sing at Kirkgate Market. Thanks to the passers by who stopped to listen to us on a busy, bustling Saturday lunchtime. We gave out lots of choir leaflets (thanks Lizzie) and we hope a few new people may come along to choir to have a sing and maybe join us. 🙂
Shine Night Walk Leeds, 20th October 2023
The choir had a great time supporting the Shine Night Walk for Cancer Research UK on 20th October. It was extremely wet and windy, but the sponsored walkers braved the elements and so did the choir. Well done everyone!
Sing for WaterAid workshops, Wed 13th, Wed 20th and Wed 27th September 2023
Leeds People’s Choir are hosting three special workshops to learn songs for a concert in support of WaterAid. The three sessions will run on Wednesdays at 7pm-9pm at Swarthmore Education Centre, 2-7 Woodhouse Square, Woodhouse, Leeds LS3 1AD. This is the regular time and venue for Leeds People’s Choir rehearsals but you don’t need to be a member of the choir to come along. Pay as you can with suggested contribution: £7.50-£10 per session.
We will learn some new songs, including songs we will sing together with other groups at the WaterAid fundraising event on Saturday 30th September. Timing for 30th September will be confirmed shortly but is likely to be early afternoon at The Watershed in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield HD7 5JN. We had a great time at the choir picnic in Roundhay. The weather was kind to us, lots of lovely food and a bit of singing.

Get West Yorkshire Climate Goals on Track, 22nd June
Some choir members sang at a rally organised by Friends on the Earth calling upon the West Yorkshire Mayor, Tracy Brabin, and the West Yorkshire Combined Authority to get West Yorkshire’s climate goals on track. Tracy came out to see who was singing.
